Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their six-game losing streak in the ongoing IPL by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs, marking their second win of the season. Following the game, RCB captain Faf du Plessis jokingly admitted forgetting his post-match press conference duties, highlighting the team’s relief after a series of losses. Notably, Du Plessis hadn’t attended a press conference in a while due to the team’s losing streak.
Despite their recent struggles, the skipper emphasized the team’s resilience, pointing out their close matches against strong opponents like Sunrisers and Kolkata Knight Riders. He also stressed the importance of winning matches to boost team morale and confidence.
“I forgot the way to the press conference. Every time I’ve just walked off (laughs). The last two games, we’ve shown great signs of a fight. In the last game they scored 270+ and we got 260, the KKR game as well we lost by a run. We’ve played some close games but you have to win matches to get some confidence back in the group… When you don’t win, it affects the team and me as well,” Du Plessis said in the post-match presentation.

Du Plessis further expressed relief at winning a game after a month, highlighting the importance of genuine confidence earned through strong performances. He emphasized that confidence cannot be manufactured or forced but is rather a result of players delivering on the field.
