The World Test Championship 2023 final kicked off on June 7, 2023. India won the toss and elected to field first. Australia posted a mammoth total of 469 in the first innings. Travis Head’s 163(174) and Steve Smith’s 121(227) took Australia to a big total.
In reply India are 151/5 at the end of stumps on Day 2. India’s top order were back in hut early. Rohit Sharma departed for 15(26), Shubman Gill 13(15), Cheteshwar Pujara 14(25) and Virat Kohli 14(31).
Rohit Sharma was trapped in the front by the Australian captain Pat Cummins, while Virat Kohli got out to almost an unplayable delivery from Mitchell Starc.
