In a light-hearted moment captured on video, Glenn Maxwell was spotted playfully imitating the “silence” gesture in front of fans reminiscent of the viral Pat Cummins celebration.
In their latest IPL match, Royal Challengers Bangalore clinched their third victory of the season against Gujarat Titans. Despite losing skipper Faf du Plessis early, Royal Challengers Bangalore found their footing with Kohli and Jacks leading the charge. Kohli’s unbeaten 70 and Jacks’ remarkable 100 off 41 balls steered RCB to a comfortable victory. Jacks’ explosive finish, including 28 runs off Rashid Khan’s over, sealed the win in just 16 overs.
After the match amid the celebration, Glenn Maxwell, in a light-hearted moment, was seen making the “silence” gesture towards fans, followed by encouraging chants of “RCB, RCB” while pointing to the team logo on his jersey.
For the unversed, this gesture had gained popularity since the ICC ODI World Cup final, where Australia’s Pat Cummins silenced the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium after defeating India. Interestingly, Cummins, now the captain of SRH, has continued this tradition, often seen doing the same in between matches and on social media platforms.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had earlier clinched their second win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The win came as a surprise as SRH, with their strong batting lineup, seemed poised for success. However, they faltered in their chase of RCB’s target of 207 runs, leading to a collapse.
