The first Test of Ashes 2023 started on June 16. England won the toss and elected to bat first. England continue their Bazball approach in Tests, but Australia were also hanging in there by getting wickets in some intervals.
Zak Crawley played a beautiful knock of 61(73) and got out right at the stroke of Tea off the bowling of Scott Boland. Harry Brook was the next batter in. His match-up was with the Australian spinner Nathan Lyon. Harry Brook continued to play his attacking shots against Nathan Lyon.
In the second ball of the 37th over, Nathan Lyon bowled to Harry Brook that brushed off his pads, went in the air, the ball hit the back side of the body of Harry Brook and went on to hit the stumps. It was one of the most bizarre and unlucky way to get out.
