The game swayed back and forth, with Bengaluru initially looking strong before Kolkata tightened their grip in the middle overs. Despite Karn Sharma’s unexpected heroics with three sixes off Starc in the final over, RCB fell agonizingly short of 1 run.
Earlier, chasing a target of 223, Virat Kohli’s quick start was halted controversially, followed by Faf du Plessis’ dismissal, putting RCB on the back foot. Harshit Rana and Andre Russell excelled in the death overs, dismissing key batsmen. Despite Mitchell Starc facing pressure in the final over, he held his nerve, taking a stunning catch and setting up a decisive run-out to seal victory by one run.
