A big blow for Australia as their star pacer Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the final of World Test Championship 2023. Josh Hazlewood suffered a niggle in IPL, he was sidelined for the first half of IPL 2023, he came back but only played 3 games in the season.
“Josh was very, very close to being given the green light but we are cognisant that our upcoming schedule means this is not a one-off Test match of us.” George Bailey said as quote by Cricket.com.au.
“This will give Josh an ideal preparation leading into Edgbaston. With six Test matches in a little over seven weeks we will need all of our fast bowling assets.”
Michael Neser has been named as the replacement for Josh Hazlewood for the World Test Championship 2023 final.
Australia are hoping that Hazlewood will be back for the Ashes which is scheduled later this year.
