RCB women’s team all-rounder Kate Cross disclosed that Virat Kohli prompted franchise owners to recognize the team’s success at the RCB Unbox event following their victorious WPL 2024 final.
RCB’s Kate Cross credited Virat Kohli for suggesting team owners honor the women’s team after their WPL 2024 win. RCB clinched victory against Delhi by 8 wickets in the final, with Sophie Molineux awarded Player of the Match for her 3 wickets. Shreyanka Patil also shined with 4 wickets as Delhi posted 113. Bangalore chased the target successfully, led by Smriti Mandhana (31), Sophie Devine (32), and Ellyse Perry (35*), securing victory with 3 balls remaining.
At the RCB Unbox event in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 19, the men’s team paid tribute to the women’s side with a guard of honor, a gesture initiated by Virat Kohli. Kate Cross, though not featuring in any matches this season, revealed that Kohli proposed the idea to honor the women’s team.

While RCB’s women excelled in the WPL, Virat Kohli is showcasing his prowess in the IPL 2024 for the men’s team. Despite a rusty start against Chennai, where he fell to Mustafizur Rahman, Kohli bounced back against Punjab.
Benefitting from a dropped catch by Jonny Bairstow, Kohli went on to score 77 runs off 49 balls, including 11 fours and 2 sixes. His stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award as RCB secured a 4-wicket victory over Punjab in Bengaluru.
