The Mumbai Indians booked a respectable win over SRH as they secured a comfortable 7-wicket victory with Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeatable century.
The Mumbai Indians, desperate for a win, opted to field first after winning the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hyderabad got off to a decent start, with openers Travis Head (48) and Abhishek Sharma (11) putting on a 56-run partnership. However, the tide turned in the sixth over when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sharma. This triggered a collapse for SRH, as they lost wickets at regular intervals. The only resistance came from an unlikely hero, skipper Pat Cummins, who smashed a quickfire 35 off just 17 deliveries. Cummins’ late cameo helped SRH reach a somewhat respectable total of 173 runs.
For the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla emerged as the bowling heroes, claiming three wickets each at crucial junctures. Jasprit Bumrah and Anshul Kamboj also chipped in with a wicket apiece, restricting the SRH batters and giving Mumbai the upper hand going into their chase.

In response, MI had a disappointing start, with openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan sent back within the first four overs by Pat Cummins and Jansen, respectively. Naman Dhir, who came in at number 3, was also dismissed for a duck by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. MI’s inning was in shambles. However, Suryakumar Yadav (102) came in to revive MI’s innings and anchored the team towards its win. With Tilak Verma (37) by his side, they partnered for 143 runs. In the 18th over, Yadav hit a six to score his unbeatable century off 51 balls and sealed the victory for Mumbai by 7 wickets.
