Delhi Capitals’ skipper Rishabh Pant apologized to a cameraman accidentally hit by six during the DC vs GT IPL match.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant displayed his sportsmanship after a six he hit during his match-winning knock against the Gujarat Titans unintentionally struck a cameraman. Following the game, a video emerged on social media showing Pant apologising to the cameraman, identified as Debashish. The cameraman, part of the BCCI Production Crew, is reportedly free of any injuries.
The official handle of the league took to social media and wrote, “One of the cameramen from our BCCI Production Crew got hit during the DC vs GT match. Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals’ captain and Player of the Match, has a special message for the cameraperson.”
“Sorry, Debashish bhai, I did not intend to hit you, but I think you can recover well, and good luck,” Pant said in the video, clearly remorseful about the incident. Watch the video below:
The gesture by Pant has been lauded by fans, further solidifying his reputation as a well-respected cricketer both on and off the field. As of the current season, Pant has been in good form, bagging 342 runs in the nine innings he has played while maintaining a decent strike rate of 161.32.
Rishabh and Co. currently sit in the sixth position in the IPL points table and probably have a good chance of securing the playoffs. With five more matches left to play, they will try to turn the odds against them. DC will next face MI on April 27th.
