Sachin Tendulkar’s prediction of DC’s win was proven wrong as Sunrisers Hyderabad dominated the match with a strong batting and bowling performance.
SRH posted a massive win over the Delhi Capitals on April 20th as the latter struggled with the 267-run chase. However, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar believed that the DC side had a chance before they came down to bat. However, he had to admit later that his prediction went wrong and posted an appreciation post for SRH.
On X (formerly Twitter), Sachin wrote, “In spite of this phenomenal start by @SunRisers, I have a feeling @DelhiCapitals have a good chance to win this game. How many of you agree?”.
However, after the match ended, Sachin’s prediction fell short, and the legend posted, “What is it with @SunRisers that they’ve gotten past 260 thrice in this season alone! Today was a game where they completely outclassed @DelhiCapitals. They, of course, batted well thanks to a mind-boggling start by Travis Head 34 and @IamAbhiSharma4 and a wonderful finish by Shahbaz. And in the second half of the game, they bowled much better than DC, with their variations proving to be very effective. Well played, SRH!”

Speaking of the match, SRH, who had already showcased their might with record-breaking totals of 287 and 277, did not disappoint during their outing with DC, as they posted 266 runs, which then saw the Rishabh Pant-led side fail to gain an upper hand during the run chase. Besides Travis Head’s destructive knock, bowler T. Natarajan put the final nail in DC’s coffin as the 33-year-old came up with the best bowling figure of IPL 2024 (4-19), sealing the victory for his team.
With this win, SRH secured its position in second place on the points table with a net run rate of +0.914. They will have their next outing against RCB on April 25th.
