Sachin Tendulkar lauded SRH’s impressive demolition of LSG within 10 overs as Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s carnage were unveiled in Hyderabad.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a dominant 10-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, May 8th. Chasing a target of 166, the SRH openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, stitched together an unbeaten 167-run partnership to seal the win in a mere 9.4 overs. This effortless win of SRH left many experts and players in awe including the legendary Sachin Tendulkar himself.
Sachin Tendulkar lauded the duo, stating their opening partnership was “destructive” and that they could have scored a massive 300 runs if they had batted first. “A destructive opening partnership would be an understatement tonight. Had these boys batted first, they would’ve scored 300!” posted Sachin, on X (formerly Twitter).
However, after the match ended, there was another incident that caught the eye of many. Incidentally, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was found chatting with skipper KL Rahul animatedly in an enraged feat, probably because of the loss, that collected a lot of criticism from cricket fans.

Nevertheless, this win significantly improved SRH’s net run rate, jumping from -0.07 to +0.41, and the team was promoted to third place on the points table. Meanwhile, LSG, which was initially performing well, now sits in 6th place with 12 win points.
LSG will next face DC on May 14th, while SRH will have their next outing against GT on May 16th.
