In the ongoing IPL 2024 match between SRH and MI, SRH achieved a historic milestone, posting their highest-ever IPL total of 277/3, powered by rapid fifties from Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, and Travis Head.

SunRisers Hyderabad has etched its name in history, shattering a 12-year-old record to achieve the highest-ever total in the Indian T20 League – a colossal 277 runs in just 20 overs, filled with 19 boundaries and 18 towering sixes.

MI captain Hardik Pandya opted to field first after winning the toss at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Hyderabad’s innings started with a change in the batting order, as Travis Head and Mayank Agarwal took the crease. Head wasted no time, launching a fierce assault right from the start, particularly targeting the young Maphaka.

Agarwal provided solid support before departing, but Head persisted, unfazed by the loss, and continued his boundary-hitting spree with relentless determination. Thanks to Head’s onslaught, Hyderabad amassed a remarkable 81 runs in the Powerplay. Abhishek Sharma then joined the onslaught, smashing sixes from the outset as Hyderabad crossed the 100-run mark in just seven overs.

Sharma achieved a blistering fifty in just 16 deliveries, setting a new record for Hyderabad. Shortly after, Travis Head also reached his fifty in 18 balls. After the departure of Head and Sharma, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen took over, further escalating Hyderabad’s onslaught. Klaasen also notched a rapid fifty in 23 balls, while Markram contributed with a steady 42 off 28 deliveries.

Their combined efforts have propelled Hyderabad to their highest-ever first-innings total of 277 runs for only 3 wickets.
