Australia in the third innings posted 270/8 and set a mammoth total of 444 runs. India need to chase down the highest run chase ever in Test cricket to win the World Test Championship 2023.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were off to a great start and set a good platform for India to chase it down. In the 8th over, Cameron Green pulled off a screamer to dismiss Shubman Gill. Although, he put in a great dive to take the catch, the ball was almost grounded and thus the decision was taken to the third umpire.
The catch was very much controversial as it was very tough for the third umpire to decide whether it was out or not. But, the umpire gave it out and that has created a havoc on twitter. Many cricketers and fans have slammed the third umpire for his bizarre decision.
