In the KKR vs RCB match, Virat Kohli playfully pretended to bowl, handing his cap to the umpire and mimicking a bowler’s warm-up, tricking fans into believing he would take the first over.
In the ongoing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match at the Eden Gardens, fans were treated to a moment of comedy when Virat Kohli teased them with the idea of bowling the first over. Known for their struggles, particularly in bowling, RCB supporters have been longing to see Kohli take up the ball since 2016.
With chants of “Kohli ko bowling do” echoing in the stands, anticipation was high as Kohli ran to the umpire, handing over his cap, then promptly measured his run-up. He even gestured towards Sunil Narine, mimicking a slit throat, while Narine prepared to face the delivery.
However, it turned out to be a playful prank by Kohli. Just as he seemed ready to take the ball, he broke into a smile, revealing it was all in good fun. Although the fans were momentarily tricked, Mohammed Siraj eventually took charge of the first over.

On the match front, KKR has scored 222 runs, losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Earlier, RCB opted to field first against Kolkata Knight Riders after winning the toss. Making three changes from their previous match, Mohammed Siraj, Cameron Green, and Karan Sharma returned to the playing XI.
With a dismal start to the season, RCB is in dire need of a turnaround to keep their playoff hopes alive, having lost six out of seven matches so far. Their batting lineup, apart from Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, has struggled for consistency. The bowling department has been equally disappointing, lacking a settled combination.
