In the sixth over of the ongoing KKR vs RCB IPL 2024 match, a thrilling moment unfolded when Yash Dayal delivered a full ball to Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Raghuvanshi flicked it with precision and it seemed destined to clear mid-wicket.
However, Cameron Green had other plans. With lightning reflexes, Green tracked back and executed a stunning catch, extending his right hand to pluck the ball out of thin air. Raghuvanshi had to depart with just 3 runs. With KKR’s three crucial wickets already down in the Powerplay, the match is now finely balanced.
Later in the 9th over, Cameron Green struck again, delivering a short ball that tempted Venkatesh Iyer into a pull shot. However, Iyer couldn’t get the elevation he needed, and Mahipal Lomror made no mistake in pouching the catch. Iyer departed after contributing 16 runs, a significant breakthrough for RCB as they are clawing back into the game by picking up wickets at regular intervals.
Earlier, RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first, making three changes to the XI, bringing in Mohammed Siraj, Cameron Green, and Karan Sharma for this crucial match. After a dismal start to the season with six losses in seven matches, RCB is in dire need of a turnaround to stay in contention for the playoffs. With each game now a must-win situation, Faf du Plessis and his team face a virtual knockout scenario to save their campaign.
