The second Ashes Test started on June 28, 2023. England won the toss and elected to bowl first. England made one change as injured Moeen Ali was replaced by Josh Tongue while Australia brought back Mitchell Starc in place of Scott Boland.
In the second ball of the 24th over, the last over before lunch, Josh tongue bowled an absolute peach from around the wicket to Usman Khawaja. Khawaja left the ball, but it nipped back in and crashed into the off stump and Usman Khawaja was left baffled.
Similarly, post lunch, in 5th ball of the 29th over, Josh Tongue bowled a ripper on a good length to the in-form David Warner who tried to play it, but had no answer to the absolute jaffa. The ball crashed into the middle stump.
Josh Tongue who is just playing his second test match and first Ashes Test has already made a mark on this game by dismissing both Australian openers.
