Prithvi Shaw’s remarkable innings saw him score 244 off 153 balls with 39 boundaries for Northamptonshire in England’s One-Day Cup, breaking numerous List A records, after he had secured his maiden hundred for the team.

In the One-Day Cup clash at Northampton’s County Ground, Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw displayed his batting skills with a double century for Northamptonshire against Somerset. In his third appearance for the team, Shaw initially marked his maiden century off 81 deliveries before unleashing an impressive switch of gears to achieve the remarkable double hundred.

Prithvi Shaw’s rapid second ton, achieved in 129 balls included 24 fours and eight sixes. He eventually departed in the 50th over for Northants after accumulating a rapid 244 off 153 balls, featuring 28 fours and 11 sixes. This propelled Northants to their second-highest One-Day Cup total of 415 for eight.

Shaw’s previous double century in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, an unbeaten 227 against Puducherry, stood as the tournament’s highest score.

At 23, Prithvi Shaw shattered multiple List A records with his ninth century, marking his first in this format since a 165 in Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy of March 2021. Having appeared in 56 List A matches, he has accumulated 2900+ runs with 20 fifty-plus scores and an average exceeding 50.

Notably, in his Northants debut last week against Gloucestershire, he was dismissed hit wicket at 34.
