Delhi Capitals’ last match against the Rajasthan Royals proved costly as the skipper Rishabh Pant smashed the curtains in the dugout because of the poor outing.
Rishabh Pant, the skipper and wicketkeeper of the Delhi Capitals, was seen enraged while returning to the dugout after his 28-run knock against the Rajasthan Royals. His night ended in disappointment and visible frustration after his dismissal during their run chase.
Chasing a target of 186 runs set by the Royals, DC’s innings shook early within the third over. Mitchell Marsh and Ricky Bhui were dismissed cheaply by Rajasthan pacer Nandre Burger. Pant entered the crease with the team needing stability. However, he had a slow inning and eventually succumbed to Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling, edging a leg-break to the wicketkeeper.
In a video circulating on the internet, Pant’s visible anger was captured as he walked back to the dugout, clearly frustrated with the result. The video showed Pant venting his frustration by forcefully striking the curtains behind the DC dugout. Watch the video below:
Speaking of the match, despite a valiant effort from David Warner, Tristan Stubbs, and Pant, the tight bowling from Rajasthan, particularly Avesh Khan’s yorkers in the final over, proved to be lethal. The 27-year-old pace bowler defended the 17 runs needed in the final over and sealed the victory for RR by 12 runs.
After losing two consecutive matches in the tournament, the Delhi Capitals now sit eighth in the IPL points table and will be hosting the Chennai Super Kings on March 31st.
