A recent clip of Rohit Sharma seemingly sad and wiping his tears during the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad clash went viral on social media.
The Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a much-needed victory against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday night, thanks to a brilliant century from Suryakumar Yadav. However, the win was overshadowed by the continued poor form of star batter Rohit Sharma, who was seen wiping his tears in the dressing room.
Opening the inning at Wankhede Stadium, Sharma managed only four runs before being dismissed by Pat Cummins. Social media went abuzz with a clip purportedly showing a dejected Sharma, with some even claiming he was crying. Watch the clip below:
The brief clip does not offer conclusive evidence of Sharma’s emotional state. Nevertheless, social media users speculated that the clip reflected his recent slump in form for MI.
Since his unbeaten century against the Chennai Super Kings in April, Sharma has managed only 69 runs in his next six innings. He has been dismissed for single-digit scores on three occasions during this period.
With the possibility of MI missing the playoffs, Sharma has just two more matches to regain form and build confidence before the World Cup.

This slump is a worry not just for MI, whose playoff hopes hinge on a remarkable turnaround, but also for the Indian cricket team. Sharma captains the 15-man squad heading to the USA for the T20 World Cup group stage. India, placed alongside Pakistan, Ireland, the USA, and Canada, will begin their campaign on June 5th against Ireland.
