India needed a mammoth total of 444 runs to win the World Test Championship. They started on a high note and with great mindset to chase down the target. India were in a fighting position at the end of Day for 164/3 with Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli at the crease.

Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane started off in a cautious manner on Day 5 and kept rotating singles. In the 47th over, Scott Boland bowled a brilliant delivery which almost brushed off Virat Kohli’s bat. Australia gave it for a review but there was eventually no bat on it. In the third ball of the over, Virat Kohli edge one and Steve Smith pulled off an absolute blinder to get rid of the dangerous batter for 49(78).

Ravindra Jadeja came in next to bat, he edged his second ball and was a simple catch to Alex Carey. These two wickets in an over has put India in the backfoot to chase down the big total.
