The World Test Championship 2023 final kicked off on June 7, 2023. India won the toss and elected to field first. Australia posted a mammoth total of 469 in the first innings. Travis Head’s 163(174) and Steve Smith’s 121(227) took Australia to a big total.
In reply, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma started off in a great fashion. But a brilliant ball from Pat Cummisnb trapped Rohit Sharma in the front.
In the next over, Scott Boland bowled an absolute peach to clean up Shubman Gill who left the ball thinking the ball would not nip back in. Cheteshwar Pujara also got out to Cameron Green in a similar fashion, trying to leave the ball and the ball nipped back in enough to rattle the off stump.
