The first Test of Ashes 2023 started on June 16. England won the toss and elected to bat first. England continue their Bazball approach against the World Champions Australia. England declared at 393/8 on Day 1 itself.
Australia played 4 overs on Day 1 and scored 14/0. David Warner and Usman Khawaja started off Day 2 in a cautious manner, but Stuart Broad came with a game-changing over.
In the first ball of the 11th over, Stuart Broad cleaned up David Warner for 9(27). The very next ball he got the No.1 Test batter Marnus Labuschagne for a golden duck. Stuart Broad was over the moon with the two big wickets and the crowd were also behind him. He bowled the hat-trick to Steve Smith, who the left the ball that was going down the leg-side.
Stuart Broad got the better of David Warner once again as he dismissed him for the 15th time in Test cricket.
