LSG’s pace sensation Mayank Yadav will make his return on April 27th against RR after suffering an injury.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowling coach Morne Morkel confirmed the much-awaited return of young pace sensation Mayank Yadav in their next IPL fixture against the Rajasthan Royals on April 27th.
Yadav had a phenomenal start to the IPL season, grabbing three wickets each against the Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He boasts an incredible economy rate of 6.0. However, he has been sidelined since April 7th due to “soreness in the lower abdominal area.”
Speaking to reporters ahead of their clash against the Chennai Super Kings, Morkel explained Yadav’s absence and his upcoming return. “Mayank stayed back in Lucknow to give him those extra two-three days of recovery without travel. He’s been training and getting ready there with assistant coach Lance Klusener and the rest of the guys. We’re looking to bring him back anytime from the next game onwards,” said Morkel, as quoted by NDTV.

Yadav’s early performances, including the fastest delivery of the IPL season at a staggering 156.7 kmph, had created a lot of buzz. Morkel highlighted the team’s focus on getting him back to peak form. “He’s coming along very well, and we’re happy with his progress. He started bowling again three to four days ago. The expectation, of course, is for him to consistently bowl at 150 kmph. It’s about getting his body and mind in a state where he’s confident bowling all four overs at a tight pace,” Morkel added.
Meanwhile, the Giants have been displaying decent form this season, winning four out of the seven matches they have played, boasting eight points. Before their clash with RR on April 27th, they will be facing CSK on April 23rd.
