Navjot Singh Sidhu condemned Virat Kohli’s controversial dismissal against Kolkata Knight Riders, labeling it as against the ‘spirit of the game.’
Virat Kohli’s dismissal against KKR sparked controversy, with Kohli given out caught and bowled despite his belief that the ball was above waist height. Challenging the call, the third umpire ruled Kohli out as he was out of his crease, with Hawkeye projecting the ball to be legal if he stayed in. Kohli’s frustration led to heated exchanges with umpires, drawing reactions from cricketing experts. Joining the debate, Navjot Singh Sidhu sided with Kohli, deeming it a clear no-ball.

‘Chhati thok ke kahunga not out, rules have been changed, the laws which are in the favour of the game must be upheld. It was a beamer, and whenever a bowler throws a beamer, he usually apologizes and when the impact of the ball occurs with the bat, it is almost 1.5 feet above, so I think the rule should be changed,” Sidhu said in a video shared by Star Sports.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis also weighed in on Kohli’s dismissal, acknowledging both he and Kohli thought the ball was above waist height but accepted it as part of the game’s unpredictability.
On the match front, despite a valiant effort, RCB suffered a nail-biting one-run loss to KKR. Initially, Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks anchored RCB’s chase after early setbacks. However, a late collapse saw them needing 21 runs in the last over, eventually falling short. KKR’s strong total, boosted by Phil Salt’s 48 and Shreyas Iyer’s 50, proved challenging.
With their seventh loss in eight games, RCB’s hopes of reaching the semis solely depend on winning their remaining matches convincingly and relying on favorable outcomes elsewhere.
