Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly progressing well after an ankle injury and sports hernia surgery but may need to miss a few more matches as he continues his recovery under observation at the NCA.
Suryakumar Yadav’s return to the Mumbai Indians squad for IPL 2024 remains uncertain as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury and subsequent sports hernia surgery. Despite initial hopes for his participation in the first two matches, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has yet to green-light his return.
While Yadav shows promising progress at the NCA, some BCCI sources have indicated he may miss several more games. As Yadav remains under observation, his comeback timeline hinges on continued progress and careful management of his recovery.
“Surya is making very good progress and very soon he will be back playing for MI. However, he might have to sit out for a few more games, having missed the first two. For BCCI, the main concern is if he is on course for World T20 which he is. Obviously, he will play for MI but after a sports hernia surgery, he can’t be rushed,” a source was reported as saying by The Times of India.
Yadav’s return date remains uncertain, but he’s anticipated to join the team for the second leg of matches.
