India’s official kit sponsor, Adidas, recently revealed the official jersey for team India that they will be wearing for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The Indian cricket team’s official jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 was unveiled on Monday, May 6th, by sportswear brand and the team’s kit sponsor, Adidas. The launch video featured a stylish presentation at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, with captain Rohit Sharma alongside teammates Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.
The new jersey design had been rumoured to have leaked earlier, but fans on social media were still excited by the official launch and expressed their anticipation for the tournament.
The newly designed jersey features a mix of India’s training and match-day kits, combining shades of saffron and blue. The BCCI crest sits proudly on the chest, while the traditional Adidas three stripes adorn the saffron sleeves. The jersey boasts a V-neck that showcases the nation’s tricolour. Adidas shared the launch video on its social media handle. The team will sport the new jersey during the T20 WC, which will be held next month in the West Indies and the USA.

Speaking of the World Cup squad, while KL Rahul, Rinku Singh, and Shubman Gill were notable omissions from the World Cup squad, veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made a successful return to the national team. Gill and Rinku were named as reserves, while the selectors opted for two wicket-keeping batters in the middle order – Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson.
Another surprise addition to the squad was all-rounder Shivam Dube, who impressed fans and experts alike with his explosive batting for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Hardik Pandya’s spot was questioned after a disappointing IPL season, but the selectors retained faith in him, naming him vice-captain for the World Cup.
The country will begin its campaign on June 5th against Ireland, followed by the marquee clash against Pakistan on June 9th.
