Rohit Sharma, the former Mumbai Indians captain, intervened during their home game against Rajasthan Royals, appealing to the Wankhede Stadium crowd to refrain from booing Hardik Pandya.
In a heartwarming display of sportsmanship, former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was captured on video silencing booing spectators as the new skipper Hardik Pandya took to the field. The viral clip showed Sharma gesturing to the crowd while fielding in the boundary line, urging them to calm down and support their team.
Since Pandya took over the MI captaincy, the all-rounder has faced massive criticism from fans, particularly evident during recent matches at various stadiums.

The hostility reached its peak during matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where Pandya was at the receiving end of the crowd’s strong disapproval.
Even at Wankhede Stadium, Pandya faced jeers, prompting commentator Sanjay Manjrekar to intervene and appeal for respectful behavior from the spectators.

On the match front, Rajasthan secured a comfortable six-wicket victory with over 5 overs to spare, marking their third consecutive win, thanks to their bowlers’ efforts and Riyan Parag’s consistent performance.
Earlier, Mumbai’s batting started poorly, losing four wickets in the first four overs, with three batsmen out for ducks. Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma then steadied the innings, but Pandya’s departure halted their progress. Despite Pandya’s aggressive batting, Mumbai couldn’t recover from the setback, ultimately leading to their defeat.
