Pakistan

Batting:

Pakistan batting has been a well-balanced one, with the openers doing their job and the power hitters carrying out theirs. Mohammad Rizwan has been in superb form in the Asia cup and has moved to No. 1 ranking in T20 while Babar who hasn’t been able to perform well throughout the tournament has descended to No.2 . Asif Ali, Khushdil, Shadab, Nawaz, and Iftikhar Ahmad are the middle order and try scoring as many runs as they can in the last overs. Pakistan found a match winner in Naseem when he scored 2 sixes off two balls against Afghanistan and helped Pakistan reach the final which seemed doubtful at that moment for them, being 9 wickets down. A chance might be given to Haider Ali to prove himself. Sri Lanka would need to take early wickets in order to have greater chances for themselves.

Bowling:

The bowling has been incredible with the spinner mostly taking more wickets, Nawaz and Shadab have been taking crucial wickets and destroying the opponent’s batsmen. Usman Qadir is expected to replace Shadab for the match, he too is capable of taking wickets with a low economy. Rauf and Naseem too have been great throughout the Asia cup, especially in the death overs because usually in the start they do get hit for runs whilst they control the run rate after 10 overs. Hassan Ali is expected to replace Naseem for the match, it will be a golden chance for him to prove what he is still capable of after being out of form for many games.

Sri Lanka

Batting:

Sri Lanka gave a disappointing performance in their first match of the asia cup against Afghanistan however since then, they have brought themselves up and have been destroying their opponents. Nissanka and Mendis are seen in good form scoring half centuries. Asalanka, Gunathilaka, Rajapaksa, Shanaka and Silva have been average due to them being inconsistent however, they have been making good contributions in their respective matches. Sri Lanka needs to score above 170 at least if they want to stay at a relatively comfortable position.

Bowling:

Karunaratne, Silva, and Shanaka have been taking 2 wickets each on average throughout the tournament. Theekshana has proved to be a low economy bowler with an average of 6.20. The Sri Lankan bowling line-up must be aiming to take the Pakistani openers out as quickly as they can, especially Rizwan.
